Soft Shell Eggs in the middle of the night. Now getting worse

if she's popping out eggs with no shell, that can cause bad infection in her vent. She probably has god I forgot the name of the condition, but it is serious.
Thanks. I already emailed my vet what is going on, and I am going to call at 8 when they open. I also found this morning that her crop seems compacted crop. It was still hard and the size of a golf ball when I just checked her. I have watched videos on clearing a compacted crop but it seems it always takes 2 people and I dont have that right now. Hopefully I can get her into the vet first thing and get her completely checked out.

Hi Michael
She’s a 5.5 lb hen. The antibiotic is TMS (SMZ-TMP) 240mg/5ml —2.4 mls 2x/day for two weeks and anti inflammatory Meloxicam 1.5 mg/ml—2x a day for a week then 1x/day for a week.
Both are liquids. I find the liquid easier to administer. I put it down their beaks so I can make sure they are getting it.
Good luck, please let us know how it’s going.

Thanks I will pass that along to my vet. I dropped Dottie off this morning and she is being looked at now.

A quick update I just got Dottie back from the vet. They did find a remnant of a egg shell in her reproductive track by an xray and were able to remove it. Temp was normal, and nothing else seen on the xray. They also did a blood panel and sent it off to the lab, results should be back Wednesday or Thursday. She seems a little more perky but I am going to keep her isolated for a few more days to keep an eye on her droppings and just observer her more. Also the droppings in the kennel this morning looked more normal than what I had seen the previous days. Pictures of everything attached.

@Michael Propst
How is your hen doing?
Thanks for following up. She is starting to do better. Her blood work came back yesterday and the vet explained it all pretty technical. Simply put her blood was a mess. Started treatment for Salpingitis and she got her started on 22.7mg of Enrofloxacin twice a day for 2 weeks. She is eating and drinking and her dropping are looking more normal. She has not laid anything since the vet extracted what I am told was probably a lash egg on Monday, but with everything going on with her I dont expect anything and actually hope she reserves her energy to getting better.

Thanks for the update Michael. Sounds like you are on a good path.
New Update. Dottie is getting much better. I still have her isolated in the garage as recommended by the vet to keep her separated to rest for 7-10 days. She is still getting antibiotics for another week. She is doing much better. I took her out in the side yard yesterday for about 15 minutes and she ran around and loved eating clover leaves. She also surprised me this morning with an egg. First normal egg she has laid in over a month.
