Soft shelled egg laid with weird stuff inside... has anyone ever seen this or know what this is?

I too would be concerned that the vascular supply indicated a tumour forming around the yolk and I would guess, most likely before it was released from the ovary, since I doubt a blood supply like that could form in the approx 24hr period that the egg is in the oviduct.
It is a bit disappointing that the website linked does not give the cause and outcome for the hen of the unusual eggs it shows images of but interesting to see a very similar example to this.
My gut feeling is that this hen has a very serious underlying problem that may well prove fatal in the coming weeks/months. An avian veterinary visit might be in order if she is a much loved pet and finances allow and you can locate one within a reasonable distance.
