Our approximately 16 month old Ameraucana, Maple, has laid 3 soft shelled eggs out of 140, her first laying year. 2 in the last week, mid September, starting a molt? I feed Bar Ale layer pellets with oyster shell. Snacks are meal worms a.m., corn mid a.m., greens at 2 p.m. (Cabbage, lettuce or kale,) meal worms night time snack. She gives blue, 65 gram biggies which have been 5 to 6 per week. I have added dry cat food kibble, black oil sunflower seeds and oatmeal as a winter mix, the last two weeks. 3 weeks ago, we had our hottest 2 days of the year, she had ice water, frozen melon and corn, and has had blackberries this summer. She just started skipping a day or two between eggs, and had 2 of the softies this week. Sound normal for fall and potential molt?

Yes, sounds normal to me especially for a hen new at laying. I'd say nothing to worry about :)

Soft shelled eggs are seen more as they are firing up the system or shutting it down. Another cause can be stress which will cause the egg to come out before the shell is applied.
