Software? Building A Coop

Hello!
Its been a few years since I had backyard chickens and Im so excited to get more this spring. Ive bought 2 coops in the past and have learned a LOT about what I want in a coop. I havent been able to find a design I love, so Id like to design my own. Im a beg+/int level with building, so Im hoping to find some sort of software that will take my design and tell me what pieces to buy, cuts to make, etc. Does that exist?

Not to my knowledge. I'd just sketch it out and start shopping.

There are some CADD programs that will generate a materials list....
...maybe SketchUp.
But first you need to know or learn CADD.

Unfortunately, SketchUp is not beginner friendly. Even my daughter the CAD professional doesn't like to use it because the learning curve is so steep.

But old-fashioned graph paper works.

The key thing is to think in terms of the standard lengths of lumber -- mostly multiples of 4.

8-foot boards, 4'x8' sheets, etc.
