Software to Organize Breeding

I've been wondering what software to use for keeping track during a complex breeding project.
I need to be able to keep a pedigree on each bird and have that easily link to other mentions of the bird's unique identifier code. So that each batch of chicks can have a pedigree generated based on the parents, telling me what genes they may be carrying.
There was a horse breed registry that had a web tool like this, and it was really handy.
At least that's what I think I need. Thoughts? I plan to be continuing this project for many years so organization is a must.

I use Bird Breeder. Idk if it’s the best, but it’s what I use.

Following! I get what you're saying at the moment mine is a physical handwritten book with printed photos very time consuming!

Would Word work? I'm going to give it a go I know if you use titles then reference to it it will take you to the page with that title...

About any software or pencil and paper will work. To me, the difficult part is not the record keeping but keeping track of who's who with leg bands. If you start banding them as chicks they will need at least three band changes as they grow and then re-banding as the plastic gets brittle or they loose them.

A rabbitry program could do the pedigree portion but won't auto-populate chicken genetics. BUT you could put the known genetics into a notes section that should populate into a pedigree for you. I use BunnyTrails software for my rabbits.

I use pencil and paper and leg bands for my project. I put a colored bead on the zip tie to tell who’s who and who’s an F1 and so on.

I do this one colour for each month and numbered with year then one colour for the rooster.
For example I have 3 roos and each one is banded white, black or blue. Every hatch white rooster chicks get banded white and banded on opposite leg with a colour for month so October is a yellow band, yea band changing is time consuming but it's easier than going now which line we're you from again. I use zip ties and make them as loose as possible without it falling off. Every chick is checked every Monday and every chicken and hen is checked the 1st of every month.
I know I'm probably OTT but I HATE buying in new chickens eggs is much safer
