I got some fertile eggs that I'd like to throw into the incubator, but they're slightly soiled. Is washing them a no-no? What about wiping them down with a damp cloth?

Better to rub them with a soft, dry cloth, and if there is stuck on detritus, try gently sanding with fine grade sand paper. If you MUST wash them be sure to use water that is warmer than the egg.

I had a bit of poopoo on mine and I used a paper towel. Whatever I couldnt get off with that I chipped at it with a fingernail (then scrubbed my nail with soap for ten minutes)

I didnt want to risk it with the water. Some of them have tiny poop stains still on em.
