solar light with timer

i just got my quail so i know by the time they reach there peak laying age will be in the fall/winter when the days will be shorter (lay best when days are 12-14 hours of daylight) so i want to add 2-4 hours of light in the winter so they they will lay more eggs. then in the spring i will replace these birds with new ones so that next summer i will get my best laying season during the summer.

If you get one of the cheap dollar solar lights from the dollar store it will only last about 2 to 4 extra hours after it gets dark before it looses its charge and will recharge for the next day. These I think would work out well and be super cheap. Just pick one up for a dollar sit it out in the sun then when it gets dark go ahead and time it to see how long the charge lasts before it goes out. May save you a lot of moneys.
