Solar Lighting for you coup

I am a big fan of using those solar walkway lights. I bought 2 of them for $3.87 each at Home Depot and they lasted 3 years. I now need to replace them. they may have lasted longer if I had actually bother to mount them to something. All I do is take off the stake that you would normally use to push it into the ground by your sidewalk and then I set them in the windows of my coup, one at each end. They give off just enough light to coax the girls in when it starts getting dark and it also allows enough light to do a head count in the dark when I close up the coup. If you do this make sure you do something so they stay in place. Somehow my girls managed to knock them out of the windows and then they get lost in the deep litter.

Yes I would be interested in such a light kit for the coop. Is the kit for sale a reasonable price? Is there a web site to go to?
Thanks.

how much much is the solar light with timer for a chicken coup

Well, it depends how much light you need. If you just want a tiny amount of light so you don't trip over things when you go out to check on your chickens in the middle of the night (or to coax the girls in as a previous poster mentioned), you can buy pretty good lights for under $30 (but there is a lot of cheap solar junk out there, so I would advise you find something online that has good reviews rather than just buying what you see at the hardware store).

If you want a more powerful light, with more options, it's going to cost more. Yeti Solar makes a solar light for $150, and a programmable timer for $40. If you want more info on solar lighting, I would suggest you check out this article I wrote for BYC a while ago.
