Solar lights in a bottle

I've seen this before,

on my internet wanderings, and the same problem I thought of then still holds.

Anywhere where your temperatures get below freezing, the water could freeze and break the bottle.

Anything you'd put in to prevent freezing (antifreeze) would be toxic.

so a spill or other accident could be catastrophic.

If you heat your coop, or are lucky enough to be where temps are mild in the winter, the freezing wouldn't be much of an issue, though.

I'm still considering how to get around the problems, though,

at least for a particular storage shed we have...

Why would freezing be a problem? I fill all the empty space in my chest freezer with the same soda bottles. I Just leave a little airspace for expansion.

I don't know that it would be all that much of a problem for us down here in the south. I imagine that there might be problems with the plastic freezing and cracking up in some of those places where the temps drop below zero. I don't know though. None of my coops are big enough to need it. I just thought it was a fascinating solution to a problem.
