solar vs 12v/battery fence chargers

thanks. i’ll see what my electrician says tomorrow but it’s good to know i’ve got some options.
Let us know what you do. I'm always looking for improvements. It's been 100% flawless thus far, but things happen.

And I'm stoked about the battery/energizer storage solutions y'all posted about on this thread. I've been using a deck box. It works fine, but it's huge.

Oddly enough, $1500 doesn't sound too bad. Around here, our electric has to be buried at least 2' deep, unless under concrete. 300' of USE-2 "Mobile Home Feeder" Aluminum wire rated for direct burial is under $2/ft - but you are already at almost $600. The trencher is another $160/day, its a solid day of labor in almost any ground to trench 100' unless you are bringing monster equipment, lay, cover, and repack the soil. Then you've got your stubs and conduit from 2' deep in the ground to your existing electric, a 50A breaker, the 50A sub panel you intend to connect to, grounding rod, connector and 4g bare copper, a few single or dual gang boxes, breakers for those circuits, some 10g wire (likely in conduit), outlets, switches, and - oh yeah, permits.

permits are for women and the dutch.

i was also pleasantly surprised with the estimate though.

All I'm saying is that I don't post publicly about new electric work, and I don't invite the Inspector to get a cold beer or an icy beverage from the 'fridge in the "unimproved" out-building that absolutely, positively, does NOT have a water supply and an on demand hot shower installed...

“this? this was always here. i guess the previous owners didn’t pull a permit for it”

if my town inspector is lurking on here, well then that would really suck.

i’m not too worried about it. i’ll take one of those hypothetical beers, though

If only. Virgin Ground before I moved onto the acres.
