There's only a 10% chance of a brown or pink egg. You'll be fine!Eesh, I hope I don’t get brown from them, I’ve already got plenty of brown layers.![]()

Our first three EEs, we got a blue layer,a green layer and a brown layer. Are next four all lay shades of blue or blue-green.Eesh, I hope I don’t get brown from them, I’ve already got plenty of brown layers.![]()
Where did you get that number from? There's only a 10% chance of a brown or pink egg. You'll be fine!
Meyer Hatchery claims 10% of their birds can lay a brown egg. I think My Pet Chicken says 5%. I suppose it differs based on the breeding program of the EE.
They claim that because you can't prove otherwise.
It's just marketing. If you see 10% or 5% you think ohh those aren't bad odds so you'll buy. If they said 25% or 50% how many less people you think would take that chance?
Well I'm pretty certain if they want people to think the odds are really low then they wouldn't be putting many reviews up that would make it look otherwise.
I'm not to familiar with Meyer's but I know MPC is riddled with inaccurate info and marketing tactics.
Another thing is that MPCs regular Easter eggers come from Meyer's don't they?
Makes me wonder if both are selling from the same source why MPC claims half the % as Meyer's does?
You have to watch the spelling. Tractor Supply sells them as Americanas. Which is a tricky way of saying Easter Egger.Tractor Supply. Which is why I’m doubting that they’re legit.
I just can’t help myself.
