Sold as Mottled Java..I'm guessing Cuckoo Maran?

We bought two new chickens today. My boyfriend went to pick them out. We are both new to chickens. He bought a Mottled Java and a Buckeye. They are 20 weeks old. When I got home I went to look at the chickens. He stated they had just brought the birds in and their cages weren't labeled yet. I believe the ID for the Buckeye is correct. However, I'm pretty sure our Mottled Java is not a Mottled Java. My guess is it is a Cuckoo Marans. It has white looking legs, but no feathers on the legs or feet. I tried to get some decent pictures. Any thoughts?

Doesn't look like a Marans to me, looks mixed breed.

hmm, I really doubt it's a mixed breed. The farm store we got her from gets all of their birds from a hatchery (not sure which one).

I agree.
It is not a cuckoo marans. And doesn't resemble any breed I know. Looks mix breed but maybe its a breed I'm not familiar with.
Curious to hear what others say.

That doesn't mean anything getting them from a hatchery.

I think I will go back to the farm store tomorrow and ask. You guys do agree it's not a mottled java though, right? We are keeping her either way. My boyfriend picked her because he like how she looks. Just curious to find out what she is if possible.

@h2oratt Do hatcheries have chickens that may get put in the wrong breeding pen? I've only been a chicken owner since April, so this is all new to me.

Not a mottled Java, I kind of thought she looked like a cuckoo Maran at first but I have never had one before and am not a Maran expert. I do have a mottled Java though and this is definitely not one. I agree that she does look like a mixed breed.

Yes, or the hatchery mislabel them. Did you get it as a chick?

It could be a mottled Java. They lay brown eggs
