2 Black Australorp hens, raised on organic feed. (SOLD FOR $20 each)
My pullets are approx. 26 to 27 weeks old and at point of lay as of the beginning of August, 2009. I would like to downsize my flock a little to avoid any later problems that could occur with over crowding the coop or yard. They get to forage in the garden a lot right now to help avoid problems.
Hatch dates were Feb. 11th 2009 for one, and Feb. 23rd. 2009 for the other.
My chickens have all been raised from day old chicks on exclusively organic chicken feed and trimmings from my organic garden. The chickens have been raised around children and a dog, and have always been very healthy and have grown into beautiful pullets. They are pets and I am not in a rush to "just get rid of them," I am just wanting to be proactive in providing the best conditions for them.
