We helped delivery dinners to the shut ins yesterday as we had our thanksgiving christmas newyears eve and fourth of july celebrations in September when Andrew was home on leave...our christmas presents will be to send CARE packages to the boys and girls in the military...

Hi Pam...

Commander Fowl.. is one of the BYC mascots... He arrived in Iraq a few weeks ago, and has been pretty busy talking up the troops!

He spends Saturdays making battle bracelets for the wounded troops, and on Thanksgiving, spent lunch at one of our dining facilities cheering folks on.

He is a world traveler! Next month, he will be going to Germany with me, when I visit my 2 youngest for Christmas...

There is a thread on BYC mascots..

My BIL is at that base. He has 4 kids under the age of 7 waiting for his safe return. His daughter,( the only girl!) was not quite 4 months old when he left. We email chatted with him yesterday while the whole family was together. He says the boxes they recieve are like gifts from heaven. He gets boxes from us and the rest of his family pretty often. However there are many that don't. He said it is all appreciated SO much. So a big Thank you to all of you from him and me!!

Pam did ya check out the Mascot thread yet? I am waiting for the pics of Commander Fowl's adventures. I know Athena is taking real good care of him. I am glad to hear Drew had a nice dinner for Thanksgiving and got to be with a family. I certainly hope things go well for him while he is over there. He will be included in my prayers.

Athena, when my dad was stationed in Upper Heyford, England, okay , well I guess we all were stationed there,, lol
Every holiday, we always had at least two or three soldiers take part in our meals. I didn't understand why, now I do. I just knew it was the polite thing to do.

I'm going to try to get some stuff at the store this afternoon, and hopefully get it sent off so it will be there soon.
Jus call me Kris Kringle.
Have a wonderful day everyone. Thoughts and prayers sent ...grab the ones you need.
