Had a rough 1st incubation with a cheap incubator and only 1 chick was viable/hatched. This chick is now a week old in the brooder and doing well. Chick isn’t loud or attached to me - I put a few mirrors in there and a plush animal and some string and occasionally I’ll play chick sounds for it online..
I now have a broody hen. Not sure if her eggs are still fertilized but if so they would be due to hatch in 2 weeks.
1) Will this sole chick be ok on their own for 2 more weeks while I wait to see if this hen’s new brood hatches?
2) If so, could I safely try to raise the brooding hen’s eggs in a brooder inside next to the sole chick for “company” until the temps even out enough to integrate them with a 3 week difference?
