Otherwise just work on your family with the rest of the stuff. Show them the article above if that helps explain things. Chicks aren't hard to take care of but they are temperature sensitive when young, and they grow SUPER fast, which is why I already mentioned planning for a coop if you don't have one.

It seems like you are young and at the mercy of your parents, no judgment here. Clamp lamps with a dome and a red heat lamp ar inexpensive, as is hay. If your family wants eggs, it does no good if you don’t raise your chicks properly. It’s really not hard, just requires routine cleaning and making sure they are warm and comfortable til they get their feathers and can move outside. Speaking of, do you have a coop and or run ready for them? This is often a larger expense of money and energy than raising them.
