My two showgirls and one of my young silkies went broody all on one nest. I wasn't really paying attention as I let them do what they want. I finally decided to go through the nest and there were 46 eggs. Oops. 14 were with in days of hatching so I put them back under the girls. 12 looked about halfway through and I put them in the incubator. The rest went to the pigs for a treat. One showgirl decided she didn't want to brood anymore. The eggs started hatching and the two broodies are happily clucking away (and still rolling freshly laid eggs under them!). I'm going to check later today and remove all fresh eggs. At last count yesterday 5 chicks had hatched.
