Additionally, veterinarians would definitely sell it as a wormer to make more money! I wonder why they dont sell it? Perhaps all that schooling they've had paid off after all.

What is the benefit to feeding it to them directly from a nutritional standpoint? I know that mine get some as they peck around the coop and such, but why would we feed it purposely? Calcium??

There is not really any nutritional value, as it should not be supplied as a main food source, but a lot of people mix it in with feed to keep bugs out of it.

I grow organic vegetables & sell them. I use DE to get rid of the ants in my garden. It works its no Amdro but it does get rid of the ants. You have to be persistent & reapply but it does work. I also use dawn detergent to rid some bugs again its no sevin dust. I find it hard for someone to say the product is worthless. I've never used it to rid bugs in my feed because I've never seen any bugs in my feed. But after reading this post I would certainly use DE if bugs start attacking my feed. So, if you have had success with the product then use it & pass on your success I'm open for more uses. I will continue to buy the product so more ways to use the product would be great. Thanks 7L
