some hens submissive

I posted this in the wrong spot earlier. my question is this. I have 5- 4 month old hens. My leghorn laid an egg a week ago and none since then. My RI Red started 4 days ago with an egg a day, sad to say I found her dead probably from a visiting dog, anyway the two that laid would no longer run from me but just drop into a squat and let me pick them up. The other 3 no layers still run from me. any idea why. thanks

The squat means that they are ready to mate... and they are looking to you as the leader of the flock!

The other birds will probably start doing the squat too as they get closer to laying.
