So Many people think that when their chicks go to the big "house" they need to have prevenative mdication to ward off coccidiosis
but that is not true
Your soil can have any or all of the 9 kinds of coccidiosis in it

Even if the birds are on a amprolium feed do not fail oif birds come down sick
the medicated feed does not deture coccidiosis just slows it down.
by standing humped up and only driking water generally in the corners
some 10-12 days after being put on the new soil, then get the corid or sulmet into the drinking water

corid 9.6% dry or liquid is 2 tsp per gallon of water

this will be new to the chicks.
the best thing is to feed them good dry crumbles and once a day give the wet mash probiotic 2 tsp for each chick

I never found it any good to feed corid or sulmet in the water as preventative
I have heard some say weak amt of liquid per gallon for 25 days is good
NO IT IS NOT GOOD FOR THEM.

as if they become exposed to coccidiosis then treated they become immuned to the coccidiosis and should not get it again
but you have to put it in the water for treatment the full amt of days
some time folks take the idea that if they show signs of betterment in 3 days quit treat, emt
DO NOT QUIT TREATMENT TILL FULL AMOUNT OF DAYS HAS PASSED

then give the wet mash probiotic after treatment is done

NOTEremeber wild birds eat and drink and deficate the disease germs out also
they always have some kind of diseases
also if you have bird waterers where the chickens can drink from them clean them out and disisst with watering wild birds

this time of yr the respiratory diseases are prvelent in wild birds also
also fow pox is prelent in wild birds

email me any questions

I started my flock of mostly adult birds on Corid yesterday. They're all losing weight. I read the above post and am unclear if I should do the wet mash probiotic during the Corid treatment or only after. I did do it once yesterday. Thanks.

CHICKENS NEED TREATED FOR COCCIDIOSIS:
Glenda Heywood
two things effect dropings
the bird is wormy needs treated
The answer to treat chickens for worm go to National Poultry News#3
I put the treatment with Ivermection

(A Now these birds need treated for coccidiosis
here is my help to do so.

(B) FOR COCCIDIOSIS
I personally would treat them for coccidiosis
It will drop the amount of eggs you are getting:
but the wet mash probiotic and vitamins will bring back the good laying.
their insides will feel better and stop inside bleeding.

(C) here is my way of doing it that has worked for many.
Coccidiosis /two meds /vit's/wet mash probiotic.

(D) Basically you can get coccidiosis more than once
as stated because of the 9 different kinds of coccidiosis.

(E) here is my way of doing this treatment
THE WET MASH WITH THE MEDICATION IS GIVEN FIRST TWO MORNINGS:
or evenings which ever you start with.

(F) AS WELL AS IN THE WATER USE THE MEDICATION.
And remember to use it full time either 5-7 days,
but do not start and then no bloody droppings.
DO NOT STOP treating with medication

(1-A) FOR COCCIDIOSIS
Use medication of choice:
I give both medications and amts to put in the wet mash medicated with either corid or sulmet
also use the corid or sulmet in the water at same time for 5-7 days
SULMET )

(1-B) for the flock do this
THIS CAN BE MADE INTO
1 QT OF DRY FEED
2 QTS OF WATER
(1-C) AND THEN ADD THE 2 TSPS OF SULMET OR CORID
If using corid (9.6%=2 TSP) for the flock
1 QT OF of dry mash
2 QTS of water
add 2 tsp of corid 9.6% to the water

(1-D) feed 2 tbsp per chicken for a feeding
feed this two mornings to get the medication in the birds
also at same time put the corid or sulmet in the drinking water for 7 days.

(1-E) each chicken gets 2 tbsp of the wet mash with coccidiosis meds.
speckled hen gives corid(9.6%) liquid in 2 tsp per gallon of water.
And after medicating give the following things:

[2-A ]either the corid amproylium or the sulmet will work but now ,
you have a difficient gut problem with the E.coli

(2-B) and it needs to have the Vitamin E put in the wet mash probiotic to help the E.coli gut problem
do this now the:

(2-C) WET MASH PROBIOTIC TREATMENT
fed after medicating birds is done.
natural probiotic recipe is is: PER adult CHICKEN
(FOR CHICKS USE 2 tbsp OFTHE wet mash mix PER CHICK)
3 tbsp of dry crumbles
6 tbsp of milk, sweet, sour, or buttermilk or a mixture of all or some
1 tbsp of yoguart of non flavored yoguart ( no artificial sweetmer)
1 tsp of dry flax meal
mix good
AFTER PUTTING VIT'S IN

(2-D) PUT 1 TBSP( per chicken) OF APPLE SAUCE ON TOP OF THE WET MASH PROBIOTIC.

(3) NOW THE IMPORTANT INGRIEDIENT FOR EACH CHICKEN FED
and add 1- 400 mg of Vit E for chicks or
( USE 1,000 mg of Vit E for adult chickens)
by cutting the end off the vit E capsule for each chicken fed this wet mash
putting Vit in the wet mash

(4) OR FOR each chicken your treating
so for each chicken use
for chicks or sub adults
2 tbsp of mixture and 1-400 mg of Vit E

(5) for adults 3 tbsp per bird
twice a day for them till the manure is solid
and feed each chicken
2-3 tbsp full of the wet mash probiotic and what they will clean up in 20-30 minutes
then clean wet feeders and restock dry crumbles

(6) do this twice a day for a week
till the chickens manure is right
then quit the Vit E make just the wet mash probiotic.

(7) then once a week for life
All the while after medicating the birds use
do not use ACV with medication
2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar per gallon of the chicken water so their gut flora will be regulated
they should have this at least 3-5 days a week while sick.

(8) then three days a week after they are over coccidiosis
the vit's are neccessary to clean up the damaged gut problem.

pm me if you are confused!!
