Some kind of Mite? And how do I kill it?!

just one place make sure you get it under the feathers and on the skin directly.. does not affect eggs so still good to eat too ;-)
 
I've heard varying dosage recommendations on Irvmectrin, but the reason I'd rather dip or dust is egg withdrawl times.


Of course, it's been hot lately here- dipping might not be wise if it's cold where you're at unless you provide added heat anyway.

Thanks for the tip. I usually feed the eggs to our barn cats during medications and the like. So they wont go to waste. The birds most severely affected aren't lying yet, aside from 2 older ones so it shouldn't be a big deal. Thanks again!
 
I think it would be hard to see any nits on a white chicken unless they get very bad or you look really close, so I'm going to have to guess at lice - although I could be wrong.

Anyone else feel free to jump in here though....
