Some of my chickens have scaly leg.

What, Isn't it normal for a chicken to have "scally" legs?
Just kidding, just wash it away, use a brush and some soap to remove it, i used to bathe my chicken when it sunny, i wont dare to bath them when it's cold. My chicken is pretty hardy since he had a little bit of asheel and jungle fowl gene, depend on your chicken maybe you just need to clean his legs, just make the scale soft with a bit of water. make sure to clean the coop too, since poop can stick and make it scally again.
I usually polish their legs with a bit of oil too, they'll looks as shiny as your shoes.

If you mean scaly leg mites, there's an easy way to treat it, it just takes a little bit. Get a bowl and fill it with warm soapy water (Dawn dish soap works great. As a few stops of essential oils (peppermint, lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus or any combo of the above). Soak the legs for a few minutes then use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the legs. Afterwards, dry then and cost them in Vaseline. Do this once a day and they'll heal up nice.

Great thanks. In the title I should’ve put scaly leg mites.

Put Nu-Stock on the legs and roosts. Shake the tube well and wear disposable gloves when applying it.

Since you are in S. Africa, you may want to make homemade Nustock. Take some sulfur powder which may be sold in a garden or farm store, and mix it with petroleum jelly. Nustock also contains pine oil, but you could leave that out.
