The flock is much more settled in, all doing well, healthy, friendly and funny to watch. Here are a couple shots of them more feathered out!
This little orange chest is Robin, he's (assuming) pictured in the first on on the left of water bowl.
Some have flat combs... nearly non existent (not pictured). Some have a small single row of bumps. Robin has a small 3 row section on his forehead. These are just a few of the chicks that came from the Black Copper Maran father to a Cuckoo Maran mom, EE mom, and Welsumer mom. From looking up more info, my two black and white flecked chicks are from the cuckoo. But as for EE's I have no idea and most of the other chicks are brown with copper accents, so probably welsumers? They mostly just look bronzy
And then I have two jet black chicks, one has a white feather under its left wing. If anyone knows more about characteristics of each breed.. or traits, I am all ears! Especially EE's? I was just told to notice the puffy cheeks.. lol but I don't really have a clue.
When it comes to male or female.. I have about 9 chicks with nearly no comb. 5 with medium to large combs... Nothing turning too pink yet, the cuckoo guys are getting red around the eyes a little. I am hoping once all is said and done we will at least have 5-7 female out of the 14 chicks
