Some of the Crew Today (PICS) Sorry, Dialup!

Jody, Zane is sort of holding at a plateau. He still has infection in the hock joint, in spite of another round of antibiotics. He has no use of that leg from the hock down at all-uses it to balance by placing that hock against the other one. His color is good and he eats and drinks well and alarms for the flock, but he looks so lonely all by himself in the separation pen. I'm afraid Dutch will attack him if I put him in with the others. A couple of the sweet younger ladies visit him, in particular the black Ameraucana in one of the pics, Gypsy. She adores him. Still, after four months of fighting this, I am losing hope that he'll ever be able to really walk without flapping his wings and using momentum.

Oh, the SLW saw a big black butterfly overhead, LOL.

Your little Nugget is very camera shy, but she is so beautiful! No longer a tiny shrimp of a pullet, either. I didn't get half of the youngsters today. The Welsummers and the RIRs are camera shy, too. And I never get Dutch's half-sisters, Zoe and Margaret, either.

Here's one of the last pics I got of little Nuggers.

Believe that's a self blue Cochin. She's a real sweetie.

Yes, I have a Self Blue Cochin bantam also...I believe mine is a cockerel though. The pics of your babies are great, you have such a pretty flock. Is the black chicken an Ameraucana? It's real pretty and shiny.

Yes, that's my Ameraucana, Gypsy, in the pic with a blue Ameraucana and a SLW hen. She is the daughter of my blue hen, Charlotte, with a black rooster I used to own, Scout. Gypsy is a sweet, cuddly girl, just like her mama.
