Jody, Zane is sort of holding at a plateau. He still has infection in the hock joint, in spite of another round of antibiotics. He has no use of that leg from the hock down at all-uses it to balance by placing that hock against the other one. His color is good and he eats and drinks well and alarms for the flock, but he looks so lonely all by himself in the separation pen. I'm afraid Dutch will attack him if I put him in with the others. A couple of the sweet younger ladies visit him, in particular the black Ameraucana in one of the pics, Gypsy. She adores him. Still, after four months of fighting this, I am losing hope that he'll ever be able to really walk without flapping his wings and using momentum.
Oh, the SLW saw a big black butterfly overhead, LOL.
