Some people just shouldn't be allowed to own animals!!

BigDaddy'sGurl :

Okay, I know you mean well, but you are enabling her. Call animal control and report her. If that doesn't work call the humane society. If that doesn't work, call the police. You obviously know when she's home or not, so when she's not, go over and take pics BEFORE you care for them yourself. You are doing these animals a disservice by swooping in and caring for them but making no long-term solutions. What would happen if something happened to you and you couldn't go over daily? They are not your pets, and she doesn't seem to care how many die: she just replaces them. So until you're willing to call the authorities, be prepared to take care of whatever animals she drags in.

ETA: I'm not trying to be mean, but animal cruelty and neglect should never be allowed to continue. Family or not, friend or not, the animals shouldn't be suffering.

Where I live, the humane society is also run with animal control. So you get a 2fer. If you report her for neglect and abuse of animals they are obligated to follow up. As much as it kills you to not help out, don't tip anyone off that you did it. Nothing irritates me more than people letting the people they reported know so they'd be scared into fixing it. They aren't going to fix it permanently, just temporarily.

I have 2 cats, a dog, and 2 chickens with 4 more chicks on the way. My house and yard are well kept and my animals are all happy and healthy. It's not a hard thing to do when you treat your animals as family and your pets rather than possessions.

ummm...I also suspect this individual might be mentally ill...It would definitely be best to report this. If not for the animals, for the children. Something just isn't right here.

I would report it. I have seen on those animal cop shows that people who do not care for their animals(after many chances) are sometimes ordered by the court to not be able to own anymore.

Yes, I would report and report and report.Eventually the AC will get that court order and the people will be fined if caught with more animals.

You can also report the adult to adult protective services if you supsect mental issues.Help the animal and help the people.

Youve got to think about what her behavior and yours is teaching those kids. Shes saying look these things are just toys and your saying dont bother doing the right thing, someone will do it for you. And They will grow up and behave the same way towards their animals.
Turn her in!

i wish people who do that to animals, would be treated like the animals!
I loove cats, poor things!

Goodness- what a horrible situation for you- AND- the animals! Because of your kind heart- there are some animals still living- good for you! If you can get the courage to call them in- I just know there are loving homes out there just waiting for them! In that environment, it's a matter of time before the death toll rises. The kids throwing rocks at the animals is sickening. Animal abuse in kids is often the 1st sign of of a future criminal, sometimes very serious criminals. You have been a hero to the animals- take it a step further and have them rescued- you can call it in anonymously. Sending positive energy your way........

You need to contact the proper authorities, to put an end to animals suffering.
With all the abuse and neglect you hear about these days of animals and children...I believe people should have to take a competency test/common sense test...if they fail, sterilization!

Thank you for looking after those poor helpless animals, but can you keep doing this forever? I needs to stop!

I have to agree with the others here, she needs to be reported. If she is reported she will be investigated. If it continues she will most likely be prohibited from owning animals. And it is unsettling that her children are tormenting animals and showing signs of animal abuse as well.

You are a compassionate person for stepping in and caring for the animals but it doesn't solve the problem and her behavior will only continue. And as others have pointed out you may not always be there to make sure they are all right. And what if she adds even more to her collection?

Please, report her.

Thanks all for the replies, support, and advice....I'm going to be calling her in I believe.
