. I just can't stand to see them suffering and it's just worse when no one even makes a bid on the poor things!

This is exactly why I haven't been to the auction in weeks, I always end up coming home with something that needs doctoring! If i wasn't dead set againt having sheep I probably would have come home with a whole herd yesterday! It was like the day for people to bring in their bum animals, even the piglets smelled especially 'piggy'!

You're so kind to rescue these poor neglected animals. Let us know how the ducks clean up!

Those two bigger muscovy ducklings probably came out of a commercial muscovy meat duck barn. I'm assuming they got pushed back by the others and ended up not getting as much feed as they should have. I have a neighbor that raises 500 khaki campbells at a time up until they weigh 4 pounds and then he sells them to a big meat company that caters to the Asian meat market. Occasionally I'll go and get the ones that are called the runts of the batch, which in reality there's usually nothing wrong with them they just got crowded away from the food and water. These were called runts and looked very similar to your two bigger ones when I got them and six months later they looked like this.
Bottom picture shows them a couple weeks after I got them and they already look a lot better.

Very pretty ducks.

The older duck is missing quite a few feathers? Was he kept with a lot of other ducks? Doesn't have any nasty's on him? Mites etc?

They are so lucky to have you save them!

So sorry for not updating everyone! Been so busy and forgot I posted this up. The black one & most of the others found a good home where' they'll be slug eaters/yard ornaments. I do still have the Chocolate boy, and 3 of the other babies(girls). I will get a picture of them posted today for anyone that's interested in seeing how they, especially the chocolate one, are doing now =).
