Uhg. So I addopted a sweet lil mini eskie today and a friend of mine accused me of being an animal hoarder. What!!!! I have 2 dogs, 2 ducks, 11 hens, 25 baby chicks and a parakeet. Do you think this is a hoarding problem?

Oh well if it is I am happy with my critters and love having them so I say with a guilt free heart my animals are happy so fuu on you Dorothy! Haha.

I think "Animal HOarding" has to do with the ability to keep your animals according to local code, feed/water them efficiently without going broke, and being able to maintain a quality of life for you and your animals. If you are doing that, you're fine! Some people are just made to have animals!

Definition of an animal hoarder......
Animal hoarding involves keeping higher than usual numbers of animals as pets without having the ability to properly house or care for them, while at the same time denying this inability.

I don't think it's about a fixed number of animals, but the ability to care for them....

If you are a horder then I am big time! We have 4 dogs 25 chickens 4 ducks 10 rats 2 hampsters 2 cockatiels 1 boa constrictor and a turtle. I also have 11 eggs in lockdown 1 pipped and 15 more in another incubator.
