yes the silkie is a roo...he is not as friendly as people say silkies are supposed to be.

If he attacks...just think of him as a fluffy soccer ball...on a tether.

Mine hasn't done it yet, but he has the roostertude that makes such lovely stew...

Would you believe he's the one that taught the others??? I go into the pen and just see the rooster change...it's a DARN good thing he can't see well!

Otherwise...I'd have to relearn how to dribble a soccerball...

My just loves silkies. Me I take them or leave them. But have this out about them. There real smart or there real dumb there is no in between with them...

Chris

How old are they?
In pic 1 I think grey Jap but depending on age could be girl if close to laying age and the points on the comb don't seem to be developing like my males did, And the other is OEGB(not sure of gender)
In pic 2 I think buff Brahma(not sure on gender) and Cornish Game girl.
In pic 3 Lovely Splash Silkie you rescued.

Here is a pic of my Jap I used to have. He was around 4 months here:

the one that looks lke a jap was killed by something about two weeks ago. RIP Little Peep. i think we've figured them out...im afraid that the two i believe to be girls will transform into boys if given the chance. you see, when i bought them at TSC the criteria they used to select a boy or girl is how i was given my lot. they sad they were all girls...you see my predicament? the black cornish is a girl i think...the others seems to be boys in the closet...
my silkie is a boy...he crows and so does the OEGB and the buff brahma. i say i'm being serenaded in three languages sancho, rooty tooty, and shiner bock respectively.

they are all bantams so they will look kinda tiny...they are about 16 weeks in those pics.
