They are very cute things

This is 5 living together, 2 females 3 males.. no fights so far.
They were all hatched in October,.. the hens are laying eggs.

And Below is my favorite male ( I am sure you can see why,.. look how handsome he is ),.. he is paired up with a wild colored female

There they are!!!! Very pretty!!!! Glad yours all play nice. I came home a couple times to some very bloody heads. Looked worse than it was and they are fine now. It was during that nasty "teen" stage.

I used a tissue box with a door cut in it for a little house,..
If anyone wants to get away they go in there.

They're very cute I like the dark blue faced male you have. And the one you're holding is a wild colored male, so you matched him up with an appropriate hen ha ha. However, my wild pair produced me a cinnamon. Buttons are like a box of chocolates you seriously won't know what you're going to get until they hatch. Well, unless they're a double factor

You are deffinatly lucky that ratio works for you doesnt work for everyone but some get lucky.

a trio (ratio of 2 hens 1 male) would do good in anything as small as a 10 gallon tank (fish tank) or anything bigger than that. As the saying is, bigger is better. Just if you use bars on the cage, make sure the spacing isnt wide, they will squeeze right through.

I have my pairs in 2'x1' "finch aviary" style cages with lots of hiding places, and I have a 'bachelor pad' that has three males living in it, same size, and have had no feather plucking or fighting. My little fledgie is in a 1'x1' hamster cage. The more room they have to roam, the happier they seem to be. If you can elevate their food and water, do so, because they don't have much in the way of brains and will run through their water or sit in it and get chilled. My friend just lost four of her adults due to that.
