Some pictures of my flock...

Oh why did I look at this post.

I am going to be getting my chicks from Myers also. Great looking birds. Now I am thinking of a mix order too and I just wanted heritage american breed. But all those egg colors are so cool and I hope to be selling next year also. Oh my what to do what to do. Hubby design bigger coop 8x8 is not big enough.

Henry…She is a brown egg layer and she looked kind of like a Barred Rock when she was a chick. But she was lighter than a normal BR…I don’t know if you can tell in the pic but her specks are blue not black. I now wish I would have taken a pic of her when she was a chick.

Jimbo…I agree she would never notice if you snuck in a few more... DO IT!

Cybercat…They are not all from Myers...actually I only have a few hens from them. I went in with my sister on an order and she took most of them. Out of the pullet mix from Myers I got the hen in the picture (I picked her because she was different looking and I am glad I did) 2 Partridge Rock hens, 2 white leghorn hens and

a Partridge Rock "Roo"…If I remember correctly there was 3 roo’s in the “Pullet mix”. There was also Barred Rocks and Australorps in the mix…It was a nice colorful mix of chicks. I have only ordered from them that one time.

Probably the white hen is a EE as they can have yellow legs and brown eggs. Either way she is pretty.

I am thinking of getting the Partirdge rocks from Myers. How do they rate temperment wise? I have someone local that got some from MM and says they are pecky when she tires to get the eggs.

Thank y'all for all the complements on my flock!

cybercat I don't find my Partridge rocks to be pecky...but they are not one of my "most" friendly birds either. I have never had one peck me and they will eat out of my hand. My Partridge rock roo is very well mannered too. They just don't jump into your lap and they don't really like to be picked up like some of my "most" friendly birds do.

Your chickens look great!
I am going to order some different chicks this spring. I have leghorns hens but I am going to add some brown egg layers to my flock. We have been luck with a mild winter in Louisiana.
take care -
good luck with your flock
