Here are my girls, I always wanted to have chickens but I didn’t know you could love them so much!
This is Lorraine, the smallest. She lets me pet her without problem. I don’t know their breeds ^^’

Susie, a big girl that I can also pet and hold but only when she wants.

Ah yess I just posted it and forgot to change the text heh!
Just making sure.

As you are new to this, I wanted to point out that IF you start to get hens that are missing patches of feathers on their head and back from overmating, it may totally be because of him. Currently, I do not see this being an issue in your flock, so its just a big IF. Some roosters do fine with a few girls, but some are like mine. My rooster needs 20 hens just to not over-mate some. If it does happen, chicken aprons may help a little.

Oh we had 3 roosters together when we arrived and it was madness! The biggest was definitely not helping. We gave a lot of chickens away for free, people in this area are happy to adopt them. We actually wanted to give this one too when they took the others, but he hid and we couldn’t find him! (Facepalm!). Right now he’s very peaceful, I think it’s because he’s still young, but we’ll probably find him a new home too.

thanks for all the info, it’s very helpful! <3
