Somebody lost, I found. Any ideas???

I've never had any ducks or geese and someone told me when I found it it might be a goose. I really didn't think it was a goose but I posted in BOTH the Geese and Duck forums. One of the OP's deleted it from the Geese forum so it is only in the Duck forum I have only had chickens for the past 45 years.

To OP. I don't blame ya on not knowing what it was. Heck if I only raised chickens for that long and never seen a duckling or gosling before, I would have assumed its some odd creature.
As an example I was out doing chores and thought I would give the ducks a little huggin and feed them a couple treats. Well I quess I'm so used to being able to handle my call ducks a lot easier than my bigger ducks. As I picked one of my crested ducks up, BAM! Got hit right in the face with her wing full force. My calls ducks are very very calm and they have no issues with being handled, but that sure was shocking to get hit in the face though! Lol

Sometimes it isn't all that easy to tell a newly hatched goose from a newly hatched duckling if there are no parents and no other hatchlings around to compare it. Goose nostrils are further down the bill. That's the easiest way to tell them apart if you aren't sure.

Goslings and ducklings don't look alike to me, but I raise them. I can see where someone without much waterfowl experience might be uncertain.
