Here is the nicest sweetest chicken ever. Just about 10 weeks old. Is it possible to have a pullet with this much comb at this age? I posted about this chick and a few others last week, and people thought it is probably a roo, but coloring was more pullet-like. I am so new to chickenhood and confused. We are very attached, but she will have to go if she is a HE! No way I am allowed roosters around here. Just wanted to post a few detailed pics so I can be certian.

I remember reading that EE roos can get red on their feathers. Is that what the reddish brownish color is on top of it's wings?

I'd really appreciate any thoughts. I had two people ready to take "him" for breeding purposes, but something in my gut said wait a while longer just to be sure.

Have you ever seen EE pullets at this age with this much comb?

Thanks so much.

Cockeral. That color is a sign, but that comb at 10 weeks is the dead giveaway.

color isn't the giveaway (not even a hint its a cockerel either) its the shape, size, and color of the comb that says 100% cockerel. that's just a buff bleed through not the deep dark mahogany red that you see on cockerels. although that buff color should become more intense as he matures into a darker buff coloring

Thanks everybody...I just was hoping maybe some pullets ended up developing combs earlier than others. Boo hoo. I appreciate all your thoughts.
