Someone Asked for Suede ... Blue Orp Pics

* That's good, because I have added a errand to Kinko's to get a 24 X 36 blow-up! Heeheehee! I swear Chook has a tapeworm b/c I bumped her up to 2O% AND added an extra TBL. of food and it's barely put another 1/2 oz. on her. . . .DH says it's just because she was a feral.

He's gorgeous! And tell Skye one of the eggs she provided is waving at me when I candle! The other it's still early to tell. I think Lexie's has the biggest booger in there.

SIGH! What a hunk!!!!

As for DeDe, you certainly CAN try to see what color of her offsprings eyes would be but like you said, a true breeder wont do that. Sometimes you may need ot if that is the only way you can get more Orps.

I can not imagine you going without Blues!!!!! Otherwise Miss Prissy and Yogi, and Bama Chicken (and the others I didnt mentioned) would be facing a stampede with orders for hatching eggs!

Miss Delilah will go back in the laying flock in about a month. It's where she wants to be anyway-she's never seemed to be satisfied with the Orps. Guess she wants to run with her half-sister, Glenda. I did give a couple people some of DeDe's eggs, but mainly as extras and only then, because Velvet wasn't laying well, but I know she doesn't belong in there. Too bad because her body and head are very nice.

No harm in seeing what she throws if you have a layer pen to put the offspring in. That's what I did.

The first person to hatch her chicks (there have only been two or three so far) just told me today that her chicks have mottled legs, which is the first I've heard about that happening, so I think it was the right decision to remove her from that breeder pen. I dont have the space to experiment with her offspring, so I think I'll just let her go where she wants to go anyway, back to the laying flock. Hey, that just means someone may one day get a BR over Black Orpington chick in my "Forrest Gump Special".
