Yesterday, I found the first egg laid by my Buff Orpington hens in the nest boxes that I built for them! Nice. But today, I found four eggs in a clutch in the corner of the coop in a nest created by the layer(s). I picked them up and place two each in two separate nest boxes. I'm hoping that the "owner(s)" of said eggs will wonder where they went to and go looking for them. Hopefully, the eggs will be found and the idea of where the eggs are supposed to be deposited will click in the hen(s)' minds.

You've got the right idea, however, you could just put golf balls in the nests and then you will be able to collect the eggs
