Someone dumped a rooster.

He has like 7 toes on each foot. He is in a cage in the garage now. Our Roadie Roo was lookin to come through the fence and kick the crap outta him so he isn't staying, and the dog thought he might be dinner.

Now what?

Does he look a bit "silkie roo" to you? Like a mix?

I have 8 roos, 3 in separate flocks and 5 in a bachelor pad. The 5 can live together, they were taken out of the flock because they all desired the same hen. Poor thing!

Debi, I guess those people figured you wouldn't notice one more.

Face it, most people put very little, if any, value on a chicken life.

He doesn't resemble a silkie at all, except the toes and feathered legs. Hard to tell if he was well taken care of or not. He is sound asleep right now.

Some people!

We have had a few hens get dropped off in the night in our yard too.

People just are not thinking when they do that. The neighbors gardener fessed up he had dropped a couple off in the past.

(have to figure they are new to chickens and have no idea what illness or introductions are)

I'ma thinkin he was probably dropped near your home on purpose. Would you really be able to ignore a stray???
I don't think so - they probably knew that.

The action might speak more to your good character than their bad one.

Thanks. I think

I am sure they did it on purpose - you can clearly see our coop from all different directions. We never ignore strays, no matter what the animal is. We may take them to the shelter, but we will not leave them to the elements without food and water.

Hey Deb

What's your address and what time do you turn in????
