someone please help grapic pic inside. how can i save these chicks what should i do

Since you slept late did they run out of food or water? That is often times when pecking occurs. I try and keep feed and water in front of chicks at all times and it usually helps minimize pecking.

I usually feed them around 5-6 am. I did feed them right before dark though. Maybe since I was late and broke the routine that they have had since hatching they started being bad

my chicks started picking in a really short period of time. in my case, they were getting crowded & bored. i had to separate three that were pecked badly. i put blu-kote on their wounds. it worked really great. it served as a topical antibiotic & camoflaged the wound so further picking wouldn't occur. just wear gloves or something because it stains big time. those three girls wore that blu-kote for a very long time before it wore off.

blu-kote was the only thing the feed store had when I went there today. I'm going tomorrow to pick up a couple other items for the chicks. I had plans for the evening so the blu-kote and separating them was all I was able to do.
My hands are a nice blue color...I'm guessing I'm not getting that stuff off for a while.

I'm sorry to hear about your chicks. Sound slike you are doing a good job. As for the blue kote on your hands, I managed to get it off with soft scrub and a fingernail brush. I was going out that night and couldn't have blue hands

Put some antibiotic ointment on the wound and sprinkle dirt on top of it. This is so the other chickens wont peck at the the wound. They like red and are attracted to it.
