Someone please tell me having Roo's isn't the end of the world. *PICS*

I have to agree- although I am not very experienced. But we had 12 straight run RIR's, 8 of which turned out to be roos. And that one RIR looks like a boy.
I don't know about those Polish, but they are freakin CUTE!!!
I'd say to wait a few more weeks, though, because you really don't know. I have one right now I am waiting to figure out for sure. It has a big comb, but is little and girly shaped. I had a buff orp I thought for sure was a girl- til it crowed. I have had great luck getting rid of roosters on Craigslist.

Yeah, the Polish are rather amusing. Oh, and btw: The Golden Laced Black Polish has some "Black Salve" in his/her top knot so that's why it looks so ratty. Someone was either pecking out his/her feathers or he/she was doing it him/herself with his feet. I think it was him/herself with the feet from what I saw going on.

HAHA, all this him / her stuff makes is starting to make me laugh (or cry) Either way it's funny that I'm stressing about it.

Keep weighing in on their gender.

How can you tell one of the RIR's looks like a male? So that I know what to look for. They both look so similar to me, except that one is a bit bigger.

My two cockerels sound like someone/thing is choking. I thought there was a distressed dog nearby, it was McNugget's first attempt at crowing.

I have heard and found to be reliable that RIR that have black around the neck are female. Males supposedly will not have black feathers around the neck. It is too soon to tell what you have. One of mine confirmed this AM. Cock a doodle doo. He's out like shout.

Ok, first of all roos are not bad. I have 64 birds and 4 are roos and I have another 10 for sure cockerels and I'm guessing at least 6 turkens SR are gonna be boys too.

I'll keep my best roos for breeding the rest go to Kamp Kold.

As for your guys, it's stilla bit young, but if I was betting, I'd say the BL polish is a boy and the GL, depending on the photo looked like a pullet. The first photo I was gonna say boy, but the second photo was a better angle and maybe girl. Remember - mohawk= boy, afro=girl.

The RIR look identical to my 4 girls as chicks. My RIR roo looked totally different as a chick. Just my opinion here...

As for the Brahamas, I have no idea, give them some more grow time. Boys legs will thicken and their combs will grow larger and redden. They will usually also get a more upright tail feathers than the girls. These things start to show fairly early, but yours aren't even fully feathered yet.

As long as you don't mind the crowing at all hours of the day, roos are not bad at all. I love my very pretty boys!

I made signs for the 2 feed stores and a game bird shower and licensed seller just got 6 DBH roos and wants me to breed hens for him. The 3 EE boys went to a lady I know who lives near here.

Ranchie is now down to 6-7 roos! (One is still on the fence.)

Just did a recount- and I actually have 9 roos left. But still, that's half the 18 I had!
