Someone ran over a canada goose/ broken back / HELP

Sunday someone ran over my muscovy drake, today i came home and saw my brown chinese drake in the ditch with a wild canada goose. At first i thought he just had a new girlfriend so i got my camera to go take a pic.

I go through the field and Bernard starts honking at me. He walks up to me and looks from me to the goose in the ditch. I look and see it has a broken back

So I run and get a towel and once Bernard sees im there he goes off to get some corn. I get the Canada goose wrapped up, fill one of our large rabbit hutches with hay and set him in there. The ditch he was in was full of muddy water, and when he breathes he sounds like his chest is full of water, like a gurgling sound.


I plan on calling fish and wildlife but for now -


WHAT CAN I DO?? I dont know when fish and game will come out. WHat can i put in there for feed? SHould I put water in or keep it out since he sounds full of it? HELP!

I would just leave him be, I am not sure what game and wildlife will want to do, I would see if they have a re-hab they take birds to maybe call them they would give you the best advice. I hope someone who know more will post soon. Good luck and so sorry this happened.

Right now he will not be interested in eating. It does not sound ike his possibility of a recovery are too great. Thanks for trying.
