someone stole my chocolate hen... X(

ya know, I wonder if the iron driveway gates are grounded? they're mounded in brick pillars, so maybe they're not. I do need to put in some hotwire along the adjacent fence. I've got one of those 5-mile chargers...

I had the same thing happen with my red foot tort's, and there seem's to be a lot of that going around, craigslist is full of missing tortoises.. I think people caught on to how much adults sell for.. so sorry

It seems you were right to be concerned about your house being shown by the RE agent.

I hope you plan to discuss this with the property owner. Have you requested only qualified buyers see it yet? I would definately be getting cameras. This sucks sooo much!

yeah, I may be paranoid, but apparently they ARE out to get me

talked with the owner, he's sympathetic, but still wants to sell the house. maybe not with this agent though.
requested the qualified buyer... that kinda went past him, going to have to try that again.
yeah, cameras. that's next.

sometimes I just have a feeling about these things. wouldn't have predicted precisely this, but somehow the paranoid feeling seems quite appropriate at the moment. and fairly predictive of events.

of course, it could be pure coincedence that someone cut the lock to steal a rare breed turkey that you can't see from the road... and doesn't seem to have been interested in anything else... or... nah. maybe not.

following up with the RE agent tomorrow...

<sigh>
stinks.
where's the pouty lip icon?

I am so sorry to read this. I read your other thread over safety concerns in showing the home, and many felt something bad occuring was unlikey. I wish they had been right. I am more upset over people taking animals than the usual predators we post about. Time for some stealth camera system around the place,so you can run their faces on the news next time!

X2 - when it's a preditor eating it as a food source it hurts but it is part of life

When someone steals your beloved companion animal you never know if they are being mistreated or what and the mental trauma is extreme!!!!!!

It also might be a sign of the times.... I mean someone is obviously desperate or hungry enough to chance legal (if not lead issues) problems to get to a food source. Good luck with your new "predator"....

I've been thinking about that...
had they been there to get dinner, there's a much fatter and much slower, not to mention totally walks up to anyone looking for food BBW turkey hen in the same group.
they had to *catch* the chocolate hen... I can't catch her without another person or a herding dog. they came specifically for her.

the more I think about it, the more it ticks me off. RRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

yeah, it's mildly annoying to have folks think I'm a paranoid nutcase... but that would be preferable to being proven right.

paycheck monday. cameras tuesday.
