Someone wants to buy Rusty/Used Nails

Back in the 80's I remember an ad in the newspaper for antique coat hangers.. My cousin bit, and sent the $1.00 or however much it was and got a rusted nail in return..

I just talked to the guy and he buys the nails for $0.10 per lb. He sells them as scrap metal along with hinges, bolds and miscellaneous fasteners. When I talked to him, he was at the Pull-A-Part (car place for parts) picking up scraps. He sounds like he is about 80 yrs old. He was so nice. I will be selling my nails to him. I have A LOT!

I had an uncle in the 60's and 70's we would straiten nails and reuse them he built whole houses out of used lumber and nails kina an early habitat got a lot of folks out of squalor he did . Thanks for reviving his memory for me

My father never threw a nail away. They were always straightened and reused. A little Scottish blood goes a long ways.
