Someone wants to sell me...

IF you are worried over $7, better make sure you like the parent stock. Ask for pics before you go, cause you will spend $7 in gas just to go and pick them up.

$12 for a dozen silkie hatching eggs is a steal, even if they are very poor quality, not that you would want poor quality. If you want to see what quality silkie hatching eggs cost, check out the prices on eggbidor ebay. $50-$60 a dozen is common--I've seen much higher.

However, I do not sell hatching eggs because they do not ship well, and I cannot see feeling guilty that someone paid big bucks for eggs that did not hatch. It would make a bad experience for the purchaser and a bad experience for me.

You are far better off paying the price for chicks or started birds. Or get a pair and hatch your own.

I paid $10 for 10 eggs and was excited about it because I didn't have to have my eggs shipped - much higher hatch rate.

I paid $20 for 8 eggs shipped (breeder quality) and not one developed even started to develop because the PO scrambled them. At the same time (hatched both sets together), I also paid $23 for 12 shipped eggs (probably hatchery quality) and had a fairly good hatch rate, but not near the rate of the local eggs.

If you can get 12 purebred eggs (not mixes) for $12 and not have the eggs shaken, broken, heated, etc, I'd go for it and be glad for the opportunity.

I live in MD and I am considering selling the bantam eggs and consist of d'uccle dad a silkie mom or an americano. Green egger.also road island reds. Eggs fertile can send out asap. I can pack safelyand warm and prices can be reasonable but will be included in price. I'd send chicks if not to far but more comfortable with fertile eggs if in driving distance for viability I'd prefer to not send or make sure they can handle.
