Something big, something that flies

My granddaughter (8 YO) insists a very large owl flew down into a raised bed very near my chickens and their coop. We couldn't find a photo in our bird book though, so we can't be sure if it was an owl or a hawk. Also can't be sure if it was after a rodent in the bed or a chicken near it.

She still is afraid to go out to the coop at dawn or dusk.

Sorry for your loss, could be the branch they were roosting on broke and they ended up on the ground where a preditor lerk at night Just a thought.
When i need to put my cam somewhere that and don't have a place to tie it to i use a cinder block with the holes in it to tie to, i can set a cam anywhere i want that way.

Hope ya find out what it was cause i do nopt thionk an owl would take the time to snap bones if all that meat was there for it, sounds like some kind of ground critter, mabe the canine type
