Yep, and we're not using the carport to park our cars under until mama wild bird and her brood move out.
Maybe I could hold my hens up to her nest one at a time and kinda give them the idea.

We have a broody hen, but she just about had to hit me over the head before I caught on

I have a bit the opposite problem...I'm going to be quacking nuts this month!

I ordered from Holderreads.
Then I get a broody, who's sitting on eleven duck eggs.
Then someone responded to my craigslist ad for rehoming Easter animals.
I'm going from three to more than twenty ducks in just four weeks!

We'd better get our new farm soon....or there will be some lucky BYC'ers in the Mid-Valley of Oregon!

That's how I feel!!! DHs best friend has 10 birds of which only 8 are of egg laying age....1 bird went broody, then a 2nd one joined in on the fun and they shared the nest for a few days. Then, a 3rd one wanted in and sat on top of the other 2 birds (apparently this is the nest to be broody in!). Now, of 10 birds, he has 5 layers, 2 pullets and 2 broody's! And he doesn't want any more chickens!!

We have 4 that are, or have already been, broody this year.

One (mottled Java) we broke (too cold...it would have been a mid-March hatch), one (salmon Faverolle) hatched 2 little boys, one (Jersey Giant) is due next week and the 4th (the other salmon Faverolle) just went broody. I am waiting for #1 to go again since she has been broody about every 2 months every since she started laying!

Gritsar....if I lived closer to you, I'd give you one of our frequently broody hens! Or I can send you hatching eggs (mostly crosses since our flock is mixed) and you can hope that the broody genes get passed on!

I've got 3 broody's. Well one of them isn't broody anymore, her chicks have hatched. Eastern BlueBirds--this is there 2nd hatch this year!!

Mrs. Cardinal is in the ever green setting on hers, while Mrs. Brown Thrasher is in the wild Blackberries.

I heard some Blue Jays the other day and I'm sure they are picking there spot somewhere at the edge of the woods.
