something I need to say

They truly are. But sometimes you need 10 minutes with them, and sometimes you need an hour. Good thing the chickens don't charge for their time!!!

Curliet, you're very cool for saying what you did.

Lots of blessings and well-wishes your way.

Everything goes easier if you can sit and think awhile. I'm glad you found the time to relax and enjoy what you have. God never gives us more than we can carry is an oft heard but appropriate saying.

We have a family motto, from my Mom and dad and on down through the brothers and sisters and nephews and nieces and spreading rapidly......

Simply stated!

"Be happy for what you have!"

that can be a lot and that can be a little but we cannot take any of this with us when we go! I have to remind myself of that phrase ALOT right now.

Roosmom, when we say northern MI we are saying exactly what you said. LOL. We aren't even very far north, are near Baldwin, which is Lake County. But, I have been thru the U.P a lot when we went fishing, and on our way to Canada, also have some friends there in the Soo area. Both sides of the river. I used to work for an agency that was run by the Michigan Intertribal Council, out of the Soo, Sharon Teeples was my boss, and have gone to some ceremonies on the Garden River reserve as a guest of the Pine family. I haven't seen her in a while, but Lisa Dietz, an artist who was working as director of the gallery at the Casino is a good friend as well. And my brother-in-law, Lee Howard is from the Pickford area. Who knows, maybe we know some of the same folks.

And for all the rest of you who have given me such nice thoughts, thank you very much.

Its been rough now for awhile, and sometimes I just want to start cussing for no reason other then frustration. So its completely understandable. Things will come together for you guys, maybe not as soon as you had hoped, but they will turn around.

Sending many good vibes to you and your family!

I'm sorry things aren't working out for you guys in the home sales...My parents retired down here 3 yrs ago and had their house up there in Waterford, Mi for sale for the last 3 yrs(This was a popular neighborhood too) and in the first year their property tax doubled because they weren't residing in their home. Now after the house up there has eaten up their retirement funds they have been forced to file bankruptcy on it and some medical bills. Real Estate is just awful up there right now.

umm... ahh... Bridget...

What?? Are you wondering what the bridge is?

Here in MI no one ever questions that single word, 'bridge' LOL. Mi is in 2 parts, the upper and the lower and are divided by the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge is what connects the two. Those who live in Upper MI refer to the people who live in lower MI as those "under the bridge" We call the ones up there "Yoopers" . The funny part is that we down south still think that we can say "up north" without meaning the Upper Peninsula. We should really qualify and say "Northern Lower MI." Make sense now, haha? Probably not, doesn't make sense to me now that I have written it all down, LOL.
