one of my hens just started making a weird squeak/squak sound that almost sounds like a sneeze or cough! Is she sick or is there something she swallowed that could be blocking her airway or throat? She has drank water, eaten some oats that I mixed with Greek yogurt, and I also got her to drink a little bit of olive oil hoping that the sound would stop. She is about 18 weeks old. There’s no weezing, just random a random squawk/cough noise every 3-5 min or so. Any advice or thoughts on what might be wrong and how I can help? Hoping that whatever it is will clear on it’s own...

It could be sneezing caused by dust in the coop and may improve through the day but be worse tomorrow morning again after roosting overnight in the coop. Coops can get pretty dry and dusty in the summer. Improved ventilation may help.

thanks so much to everyone for your advice :) my hen has stopped making the noise since last night so that’s good! She started making the noise after they came in at dark and I saw them playing and digging in the dirt previously so that may have cause her to make that sound. I’ll work on ventilation and give their coop a cleaning just to be sure though
