Something is breaking open our eggs

I went out to one of the coops one evening with my big Maglite in hand and was checking feeders and waterers. Well I leaned over one of the feeders and there was a GIGANTIC mouse sitting there in the feeder just munching away. The only weapon I had was the flashlight so I stood over the feeder and dropped that big old Maglite on his head, and voila, no more mouse. I pulled him out and the chickens devoured him before I knew what was going on.

Be careful with poison in case your chickens eat the dead rat/mice. They could be poisined by them.
