Something is bugging me LOL!

Praying mantis are incredibly interesting insects (whoa alliteration!) Everything about them is fascinating. I haven't seen one in ages--I'm jealous of you! Right now we're just swarming in gnats which I can live without. I think that the bigger the bug, the less creepy. It's the small ones that you can't notice crawling on you that get me. The biggies don't bother me at all. I have an obsession with ladybugs and fortunately the garden doesn't seem to mind them either

My local feed store sells Praying Mantis and Lady bugs they are supposed to be great at guarding your garden against other bugs...aphids mainly. For some reason our house always gets a lady bug infestation in the fall...I don't mind them at all, my daughter thinks they are very neat.

bayouchica... That is the biggest beetle I've ever seen!! So cool. We have June bugs, but I don't think they are nearly as big as that!

I would have never ever gotten a picture of that beetle. I would have stepped on it again and again! Wait I take that back-I would have made my oldest step on it again and again! He would do it just to gross out his little sister.

I get an infestation in the loft every fall/winter. I know I shouldn't let them stay, but I do. Sounds gross, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of them. There aren't hoards of them, though. Apparently if just one finds a way in once, it will send out its scent and swarms will come, only to return year after year. I read that vacuuming them up and just leaving the bag outside will get rid of them long enough to seal up so they can't come back. I really should do that

I have a praying mantis...I found "her" right outside my patio door stalking a grasshopper that was like 20 times her size(they both were babies). She is the smallest praying mantis I've seen ever and I've been feeding her steady diet of sugar ants because I think that's about all she can handle right now. She's molted once already and I think she maybe ready for another, but she is still tiny. I LOVE praying mantids! Amazing, beautiful insects, I agree!

We get those lady bugs every fall too and in the spring they come out of the wood work where the hibernate. They coat our windows and I have to vacuum them up, like 2~3 times a day.

It looks very much like an Aussie "Christmas beetle," dont know proper name!
they eat and kill trees here, they love lights especially tennis court lights , they hang out in groups of 200 or more on a court and if they get in my way while im playing tennis "smash"
I used to rescue them and put them upright as they cannnot flip over if they fall on their backs, but after I heard that they kill gum trees I felt different, though i still rescue them!!
I cant kill anything unless It's deadly and is going to kill me!
Those beetles have really clingy claws and are hard to release once they are on.
they dont bite!!!
I wonder if they came over there on a boat???
may be worth checking out!
