something is eating my feed :(

I found one of my dogs chowing down at the chicken feeder. And it gave her diarrhea. If you have any four footed friends, they might be your culprit.

if it's hanging it shouldn't be mice. They couldn't get to it that high up.

I had a similar problem a few years ago. I would fill up the feeder when I got home from work and then next next morning it was gone. It was in my tractor so I checked the nest boxes for mice, found none.

So I go check out the coop in th middle of the night with a spot light. There to my surprise were 4 raccoons around the tractor and one had its hand on the feeder and pulled it over to the edge of the wire and was eating it. I caught him in mid bite. The look on their faces was priceless. They ran into the woods. I set out a live trap and caught 4 raccoons in 4 days.

Once the raccoons were gone my feed stop disappearing.

When this was happening to me it turned out to be rats. Ultimately I switched to feeding measured rations at a preset feed time instead of free-feeding so there would be no feed left out at night.
