There is nothing wrong with getting a lot of new chicks.

In fact, I am waiting until after our fair, in April, to get a few more chicks, as well as hatching our own. They are so stinkin' cute!

I think that the only cure for some is to hatch every egg they can lay their hands on for a year or more, and just get thoroughly burnt out on it. I freaked out over every hatching until I started hatching dozens at a time... now, meh... I'm over it. I still get excited when they hatch, but no more nose-prints on the incubator lid.

u don't want to start hatching your own eggs then. you will have thousands. I went from 1 dozen free hatching eggs my first time to 3+ dozen hatching eggs two months later. i feel your pain.

I have to say that it can be very addictive. I started with 20 chicks last April, 2 additional orders since then, an incubator, and have now hatched 25 on my own for a total of 73.

I was also tempted to order 18 more jg hatching eggs last week and I had to demontrate the self control that God has given me.

Your right I think but it didn't take that many for me.. but a few dozen and we were over it.. until the pips start of course... then it's just like the first times all over again

We're due on Monday/Tuesday so the excitement is building...​

hehehe, I know what you mean. Yesterday on our way home from the hatchery I was telling dh that I wanted some more. Mind you, we don't even have a coop for the ones we just picked up
